About the break-even calculator
Find how many units you need to sell to cover fixed costs, and optionally project profit or loss at a given sales volume.
How it works
Contribution margin is price minus variable cost per unit. Break-even units equal fixed costs divided by that margin, rounded up to a whole unit.
Units sold
Optional. When set, profit equals units times contribution margin minus fixed costs.
Limitations
Assumes linear costs and a single product price. Multi-product mix, taxes, and step-fixed costs are out of scope.
