Production print resources

Commercial Print

Browser tools and practical guidance for prepress operators, CSRs, estimators, designers, production managers, and small print teams—from file intake and preflight through finishing and output verification.

From supplied file to press-ready output

Work through the production workflow

Each stage collects the existing Dockzio guides that help answer a specific production question. Start at intake or jump directly to the part of the job that needs review.

Pass

The supplied file and job ticket agree with the production path.

Fix

A defined correction can be made without changing customer intent.

Escalate

A mismatch needs customer, estimator, or production approval.

Verify

Recheck the corrected or imposed output before release.

  1. 04

    Color and images

Review color spaces, profiles, separations, transparency, and effective image resolution against the intended press condition.

  2. 05

    Production planning and imposition

Plan how finished pages fit the press sheet without changing the approved trim, bleed, page sequence, or finishing intent.

    • Confirm finished size, sheet size, gripper and non-printable areas, grain direction, and the number of pieces or pages required.
    • Choose N-up or signature structure, duplex orientation, gutters, marks, and work style from the actual press and finishing path.
    • For booklets, verify page count, binding edge, creep allowance, crossover risk, and blank-page handling before export.

ImposeIQ is being developed for this stage. See the planned workspace below.

  3. 08

    Output verification

Confirm the final file matches the selected press profile and investigate signals that could change the printed result.

    • Verify final page count, geometry, separations, marks, duplex orientation, and imposed sheet order against the job ticket.
    • Keep the approved source and record whether warnings were fixed, accepted, or escalated.

ImposeIQ

ImposeIQ is Dockzio's planned browser-based PDF imposition workspace and is not live yet. Its intended role is to turn finished-page PDFs and press-sheet requirements into a transparent imposition plan without sending production files to a Dockzio server.

  • N-up layout and sheet planning
  • Booklet signatures and page ordering
  • Work-and-turn and work-and-tumble planning
  • Gutters, production marks, and duplex orientation
  • Creep planning for bound work
  • Browser-based imposed PDF export

Planned capabilities remain subject to validation against real press, bindery, and duplex workflows before release.
